Longest Lasting Non-Stick' refers to the total non-stick market (including Ceramic).

We compare to the Top 3 Best Selling Branded pots & pans SKUs (in Volume) selecting products from the same range excluding those in different sizes (i.e 24cm, 32cm), and the Top 3 Best Selling branded Pots & Pans SKUs (Volume) that are available to purchase in the UK Market.

All testing is Independently performed on the top 3 Best Selling SKUs All competitor products identified from the ranges defined in the independent panel data were tested in January 2024.

The products selected for testing are the hardest waring hardest waring in any cookware set - the frying pan. Any size of frying pan is applicable as the coating standard is the same regardless of Pan dimensions and the abrasion test is to the same physical dimensions regardless of pan size.

ABRASION TESTING

Let's talk testing

You might be wondering what goes into testing the longevity of the non-stick coating of our pans and, all the competitors we test.

So... let us tell you all about it!

First we gather samples of the top selling products on the market, plus a selection of other popular items to ensure we extensively test all the products available to UK consumers. We specifically focus on testing the hardest wearing non-stick coating in any manufacturer's cookware set range, which is the frying pan.

Any size can be selected in the specific brands range of frying pans as the coating application technology is identical with these products, as is true with Tefal ranges. Regardless of the frying pan size and the abrasion test is conducted to the same physical dimensions, to ensure a fair comparison.

The test is conducted via internal and external laboratories, to the British standards abrasion test guidelines (BS812-3). Testing is conducted in a controlled environment to mimic real-life intensive use and cleaning of cookware products with a cycle test, this is a rigorous and standardised testing methodology - ensuring complete uniformity in the testing process.

After specific cycle count intervals of the abrasion process, we test the non-stick effectiveness. This is done with the industry standard burnt milk test, ensuring that after burning 29-36ml of milk dry in the pan, all the residues can be removed with a simple wipe of a cloth (volume can change dependant on pan dimensions to ensure an even distribution of the whole pan surface). If successful the abrasion test is repeated, then non-stick tested. This will be repeated continuously until failure of the non-stick coating, and the cycle counts recorded as an indication of the hard waring properties of the coating. The higher the number the more durable the product is.

And really, that's it! It's pretty simple and the results speak for themselves... we've got the...
